Will the Lakers try and get a superstar player this February?

Let's face it, the Celtics are the most dominant team in the NBA right now. Too bad the Lakers didn't acquire Kevin Garnett, otherwise I think the Lakers would've been the dominant team right now. So, now what? Should the Lakers make the effort in getting a good player in this February's trade? I mean, if they don't, then they are never going to become a powerful team and they are certainly never gonna beat the Celtics at this point. What do you think?

They've been trying since Shaq left, and it's possible, I mean if they want to part ways with Bynum.

Not a Lakers fan, but let's be honest, they are improving as we speak. If Bynum continues to have monstrous plays (don't count that Celtics game..., Celtics are the best in league defense this season), he will become a great center. Fisher is good at preventing the team from going wild (good leadership that Kobe lack). Odom is slowly working out of his slump. Turiaf, Rad, and few other are good role players.

As long as Kobe let his teammates touch the balls (he has been doing that and their December turned out to be great), his teammates will have more chances to improve.

By the way, it is not fair to compare Lakers and Celtics right now. Two teams are having different approach in management. Lakers way is going to work, but it takes time. Even if Lakers could trade for a super star, who will they get to beat Celtics? LeBron James? Dwayne Wade? Who else's a super star? Why do you even need super stars? Remember the Fantastic Four lost to the Pistons in 2004?

Celtics overcame 22 point deficit and nearly beat the Magics (they were tired after the come back). They lost to LeBron by one point (yeah, LeBron pulled that show just like he did against Pistons). They then lost to Piston because a really stupid foul was committed.... however, they have not be tested by the Spurs (no super stars) yet. Until then, we will know if the super star teams could be the true champion.
I don't really see them making a big trade. They pretty much have the team intact. The only player I could see them trading is K.Brown because his 9 million dollar contract expires after the season and some team might be interested in him.
well you have to remember this, to get a good player you usually have to give a good player. i doubt they try and trade bynum now. your only guy is odom and you arent getting a superstar for him.
not only that but they might lose kobe as well.....you make good points!.....i think artest would be perfect for this team.....he would fill the role of SF and would help guard guys like LeBron, paul pierce, Rashard Lewis, and others in his position!...the guy is known for his Defense and will be a mentor to guys like Walton and Radmonovic!

dude look at our lineup!

BYNUM

ODOM

ARTEST

KOBE

FISHER

GET IT DONE MITCH!
I don't think so, because they're doing well right now and they only will get another star if they begin to struggle.
